Half a mile long and 200 feet wide, Hapuna Beach is my favorite place to go boogie boarding! It has been voted as the best beach in the United States before and deserves the title. It is great not only for boogie boarding but also for swimming and snorkeling. One quick snorkeling tip: the south end of the beach has a large variety of fish and a coral reef! You can’t help but notice the perfectly clear blue water and just right temperature of the ocean at Hapuna. Alongside the sandy beach restrooms, showers, tables, food, equipment rental and a pavilion are available to the public.
How to get to this awesome place: Take Highway 19 north from Kona. Make a left turn at the access road before you get to Market #69. At the end of the road take a left and then an immediate right. Follow this road until you get to the parking lot.
